BY-LAWS OF THE EASTERN ASSOCIATION OF CHRISTIAN HOMESCHOOLS (T.E.A.C.H.)

ARTICLE I - NAME

The name of this organization is The Eastern Association of Christian Homeschools (hereinafter referred to as T.E.A.C.H.).

ARTICLE II - PURPOSE

The purpose of The Eastern Association of Christian Homeschools is first and foremost to meet the needs of Christian Homeschool families by way of information, inspiration, and support in all areas of homeschooling.

ARTICLE III - GOALS

A.      To help promote and protect the right to educate our children at home.

B.      To be a channel of support, encouragement, and information to those who                         are new to or are interested in homeschooling.

C.      To promote Christ-centered activities and fellowship for parents and
                 children.

D.      To promote and encourage educational excellence for our children.

E.       To pave the way for those who come behind us.

ARTICLE IV - REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP

A.     Operate a homeschool in compliance with North Carolina Law.

B.     In accordance with our core values we expect our members to read the
by-laws and to understand what they are signing on the membership form,
and to ascribe to the statement of faith included in these by-laws .

C.     We expect our members to comply with all decisions made by T.E.A.C.H.
                Board of Directors.

D.    Members should follow the Biblical model in resolving conflicts, as found in
Mathew 18:15-17.  If you have a disagreement with another member (or
with the leadership of T.E.A.C.H.) you should approach the individual (or
board) with your concerns.  If that is not effective, you may ask the
T.E.A.C.H. board members to assist you in resolving the conflict by
mediating or by acting as witnesses in the conflict. Our aim is for peace
among our membership, and we expect that all members will "make every
effort to live in peace with all." Hebrews 12:14

E.     Out of respect for others' privacy, members are not to share the
               membership directory with non-members.

F.     All members are expected to participate in the phone chain with due
diligence, as this is our main line of communication.

G.    Activities:

1.     During T.E.A.C.H.  activities, parents are expected to monitor their
child/children's behavior closely.  Parents are responsible for the
discipline and correction of their children.  If children are persistently
disruptive to any activity, and are unresponsive to the parent's efforts
to correct that behavior, they may be asked to leave by the activity
leader or an attending board member.

2.     We expect one or both parents to attend any T.E.A.C.H. activity in
which their child (17 yrs. & under) takes part, as this is one of the
benefits of homeschooling / parent child interaction.  A child is certainly
welcome to attend an event or activity with another T.E.A.C.H. family,
if that parent is willing to take responsibility for their supervision.
However, children must NOT be dropped off without a supervising
                       adult present with them.

3.     All parents whose children participate in T.E.A.C.H.'s activities must
assist in the set-up and clean up of those activities.

H.     A parent, guardian, or teacher of each Homeschool is strongly encouraged                        to attend at least four T.E.A.C.H.  monthly meetings during a school year.

ARTICLE V - MEMBERSHIP IS OBTAINED BY

A.     Completing and signing  a membership application that is then approved by
the board. By signature of this form, members affirm the statement of faith
                included in the by-laws.

B.     Agreement with the policies outlined by T.E.A.C.H.

C.     First year applicants must complete a probationary period of up to one year.

D.     Payment of annual dues of $15.00

ARTICLE VI - MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

A.    Ability to participate in all T.E.A.C.H.  related  activities and events,
including co-op classes, field trips, and parties.

B.     Monthly newsletter

C.     T.E.A.C.H. Membership directory

ARTICLE VII - REVOCATION OF MEMBERSHIP

A.    Membership shall be revoked if the member's dues are more than three
               months past due.

B.    The member has violated the terms of these by-laws.  In the event of a
member's resignation from membership or  revocation of membership, no
member shall have any claim for refund of any monies paid.

ARTICLE VIII - GOVERNMENT

A.   The Board of Directors is composed of founding members:   Kim Barr,
               Marsha Boyd and Sandy Haddock

B.    The Board of Directors is responsible for overall policy and direction of the
association.  Members of the Board shall receive no compensation.

C.    The Board reserves the right to refuse membership to any applicant.

ARTICLE IX - CORE VALUES

A.   We believe it is the Parents' responsibility to shape the Godly character
and guide the Christian education of their child/children.

       B.    In accordance with that belief, all parents and students are expected to
represent T.E.A.C.H. with the highest standards of integrity and Christian
character.  Therefore, at all T.E.A.C.H. related functions we require the
               following rules to be observed:

              No Profanity

              No Smoking

              No Drugs or Alcohol

              No Fighting

              No Slander

Dress Modestly (No Midriffs, No Halter Tops, No String Bikinis, Keep
              Your Underwear, Under Your Wear)

No Inappropriate messages, pictures or symbols may be worn

              No Weapons

C.    We ask that our young men and young ladies treat each other with respect
and refrain from all flirtatious behavior.  Although each family has the right
and responsibility to address the "Dating Issue"  according to their own
convictions, we do not promote or allow any public display of affection at any                   T.E.A.C.H. related functions.

ARTICLE X - STATEMENT OF FAITH

A.    We Believe the Bible in its entirety to be the inspired and infallible word of
God. The Bible in its original autograph is without error in whole or in part.

B.    We Believe God existed from all eternity in three persons, God the Father;
God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

C.    We Believe that the Son of God, Jesus Christ, was begotten of the Holy
Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and is fully God, and fully man.

D.    We Believe that all men have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of
God and are therefore under his wrath and just condemnation.

E.    We Believe that salvation is offered as a gift, free to the sinner.  This gift
must be responded to in individual faith, not trusting in any personal works
whatsoever, but in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ alone.

F.    We Believe in sanctification by the blood of Christ, in personal holiness of
heart and life, and in separation from the world.

G.    We Believe that the central purpose of the coming of Jesus Christ was to
pay the penalty for man's sins through his substitionary death on the cross,
the successful accomplishment of which was attested to by his visible, bodily
               resurrection.
